I got my camera working

I haven't gotten my new battery yet, but I did get the old one to hold a charge long enough for me to download some photos from it. Here are some of the Easter pictures that I took:

Just some of the kids hunting for eggs and some of them coloring eggs at home that night.

I love to get bargains and with us moving soon.....26 days to be exact....we are in need of some new things. The house we are buying has a family room that is wired for surround sound. We have speakers and such for that, but nothing to put them on. We had been online looking for good deals on speaker mounts and just decided that we would look for some while we were out shopping yesterday. Sure enough in the clearance section at Target the had the exact ones we needed for $3.24 for a set of two. Online they were anywhere from $20 to $40 for a set of two. I love it!

Flavor of the week

As most of you know I've always got some random hottie that I'm drooling over at any given time. I call them the "flavor of the week". Well this week's flavor is yummy Mr. Karl Urban. I first noticed him as Eomer in Lord of the Rings, but the poor guy wasn't in the movie long enough for sufficient lusting, so he had to take third place behind Aragorn and Leggie.......now that's a group I wouldn't mind being a part of. ;)
Then I saw him again in the Bourne Supremacy.....but he was the bad guy, so once again not a real opportunity for prolonged lusting. But then last night I saw a preview for this new movie that he is in called "Pathfinder". He's half naked through most of it. Yum. I have a new found desire.

Now tell me that isn't a beautiful man. ;)

Rainy Friday

My plan for today was to hit some garage sales, but when I woke up to a cold, rainy day, I didn't even feel like it. There was nothing used, for a quarter, that I needed that badly. So Emma and I are hanging out at home. I've got big plans of Bissel-ing all the cushions on the chairs and couch today. It should take hours to dry so it will be fabulous sitting on the floor to watch TV. ;)

We've had our digital camera for about 3 years and the rechargeable battery finally bit the dust a couple of weeks ago. I had to order a new one.....$40 for a battery...and it still isn't in. We had an Easter egg hunt for the mom's group and since my camera wasn't working, my friend, Sharon took a few pics of the kids for me. I was able to get a couple in myself before my battery completely died, but I won't be able to download them until I get the new battery. So I'll post those when I can. In the mean time here are two that Sharon took:

The first one is a completely posed one of Kyle finding an egg. We had to rehide the egg because he found them so fast that we weren't even there in time to take a picture. The second one is Emma, on the hunt, with me in the background with my legs crossed as if I'm a four year old who has to piss. Not sure what I was doing...but it looks odd.

Random rambling

So I did do some fairly nice St. Patty's day pages last night. Maybe not my best work ever, but I'm pleased with them. I also did a cute Easter layout of Emma with some stuff I bought at this great little scrapbook store in Fulton, Illinois. If you ever have a desire to go to Fulton, Illinois you should check out a store called "Picture This". It's a nice place. Here are the pics of the layouts:

This summer Rob and Kyle are going fishing in Canada with Rob's dad, brother and nephew. Kyle has been once before, but this time I thought it might be nice if he learned a little about Canada before he went up there. So I went to the library and got a book that he and I could read together called "Wow Canada!" It is actually a very nice book and Kyle is loving all the facts and weird cartoony stuff in there.
I was surprised at all the Canada facts that I had stored in the recesses of my brain. It was scary.....I even remembered the capitals of the provinces. The last time I remember studying Canada was Ms. Carstensen's sixth grade social studies class. I can't remember where I left my keys, but I remember shit from the sixth grade?!! That's not right......

Speaking of Canada....did you know that the world's largest mall is in Edmonton, Alberta? It was the coolest shit I've ever seen. They have a giant wave pool and everything. It's like a shopper's Disneyworld! I'm adding it to the list of places I will visit before I die. ;)
I don't know how to get the "link" to show up on here so this is the website for it:

Crop night

I am going scrapbooking tonight with my group buddies and I am pretty jazzed as it has been a month since I've done any cropping at all. I am going to be working on some St. Patrick's day pages. I've never done a St. Patrick's layout before so I went a little overboard on the supplies. I spent $15 on a two page spread. Jesus, this had better be the best looking layout I've ever done! That's ridiculous. Here is one of the pics I'll be using:

I ordered some photos from Snapfish last Friday and I hope they show up today because I'd like to have some Easter pages to work on also. Here is a pic of the fam on Easter Sunday:

On an unrealted topic, I found out recently that Patch and Kayla are coming back to Days of Our Lives this summer. As an avid Days watcher since I was a kid, that was ultra exciting news to me. Yes, I'm quite aware how sad and pathetic that is. ;) Now if only my special hottie Michael T Weiss would reprise his role as Mike Horton I'd be in bad daytime tv heaven!

My kids

I love it when little kids use big words or sound like adults. I tried really hard when Kyle was little to speak to him using my normal language instead of baby talk or dumbing things down all the time. So now at the age of eight he says things like "I'd like a sandwich, as well" instead of saying "too". Last week he was in the car and saw something that he thought was crazy and exclaimed "That's insanitary!". I find it hilarious that he is in second grade and has a semi-snooty vocabulary....even if he doesn't always get the words quite right.
Here are some pictures of Kyle at swim lessons doing the backstroke. Whenever I show people pictures of him swimming they say things like " it looks like he's drowning". Yes....I decided to take his picture instead of jumping in to save his life. ;)

Speaking of kids and the funny things they say.....Emma has gotten used to us using her full name when she is in trouble. Even Kyle does it when he is scolding her. "Emma Nicole, you get out of there!" he'll say. So in return Emma has started doing that to Kyle only she'll calls him "Kyle Nicole". Funny....but he doesn't really appreciate it. ;)

Emma's first haircut and a movie review

Little Miss Emma had her first haircut on Friday at Kiddle's salon in Clive. I highly recommend it. They had a ton of kid things to sit on/play with/look at. Plus the gal doing the cutting was really good with her. Emma didn't speak one word while we were there. Just nodded and acted shy....which meant for an easy time getting her to sit still. We really didn't have too much taken off.....3 inches and then some layering. But it's already making a difference in terms of brushing it out. They gave her a certificate and kept some hair in a little baggie. It was pretty damn cute.

So I finally saw Brokeback Mountain the other night. I was all jazzed about my hottie dude on dude love story, but it just ended up pissing me off. Heath looked hot in it and at first you can't help but feel bad for him....but as the story went on the more he just made me angry. He was all tortured and tormented and all of that, but as a woman/wife/mother I was totally pissed at him for lying and cheating on his wife the entire time they were married. Regardless of cheating with another dude or whatever, he was still cheating and leaving her home alone to raise his kids.
Shame on you naughty Heath!
On a side note....there they were, on the side of a mountain, getting it on in a tent after eating can after can of beans with no shower or toilet.....I'm not a gay man, but I'm pretty sure I know how things work.....and beans should not be part of the equation.
